The Indian Journal of Orthopaedics (ISSN 0019-5413) journal is official peer-reviewed, open access publication of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) and is published on quarterly basis. The journal is indexed with Exceprta Medica, Bibliografia Orthopaedica, Index Medicus SEAR, IndMed and Biological Abstracts. IJO is published in first week of January, April, July and October.

The journal, first published on June 1, 1967, now reaches to over 6500 members of IOA, making it amongst the most read surgical speciality journals in India and South-East Asia.

Indian Journal of Orthopaedics welcomes articles that contribute to Orthopaedic knowledge from all sources in all countries.

Indian Orthopaedic Association celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2005. During its 50 years of illustrious journey IOA has carved a niche for itself. It is the apex Orthopaedic body in India having more than 6500 members from India and has international members as well. One of the core activities to achieve this objective is the Indian Journal of Orthopaedics which is the official publication of IOA.
The objective of the Association is advance the Science and Art of orthopaedic Surgery in the country.
