Twenty active young males underwent combined reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) using middle one third of bone patellar tendon graft unit for intra-articular reconstruction with extra-articular augmentation laterally by iliotibial band and medially by pesplasty. Due to severe degree of instability, medial and lateral augmentation was done in all cases to protect the intra-articularly reconstructed ligament during its critical early months of strengthening. The patients were followed up post-operatively for varying periods from 6 months to 32 months. There were 4 excellent, 10 good, 4 fair and 2 poor results.
