Seventeen cases of established non-union of humerus (6 months to 6 years duration) were treated by Kuntscher’s nailing, Sherman’s plating and inlay fibular strut supplemented by a cuff of cancellous bone graft in all the cases. Fourteen fractures united after first operation and 3 needed second surgery, one did not unite even after second surgery. Emphasis is laid on the adequate fixation and application of post-operative shoulder spica to avoid distraction and rotation particularly in nailing and fibular grafting groups.
