Critical analysis of 25 cases of fracture shaft femur treated by open reduction, kuntscher nailing and early mobilization with the help of functional cast bracing applied on an average of 12th post-operative day revealed good to satisfactory results in 96 percent cases. Application of functional cast bracing and early mobilization appear to enhance the fracture union and improve functions.
