The effect of staphylococcal vaccine on healing of fracture in white mature rabbits was investigated. The behavior of animals with respect to weight bearing, radiological and biochemical studies of the fractured bones clearly demonstrated a higher rate of union in fractures exposed to local instillation of staphylococcal vaccine. The study in rabbits warrants clinical trials to study the effect of staphylococcal vaccine in the treatment of nonunion and delayed union of fractures in human beings.
