Epiphysitis of the upper end of tibia was first thought to be simply a traumatic separation, combined sometimes with an actual fracture of the epiphysis. The true Osgood-Schlatter disease however shows characteristic bony changes. The manner in which the tuberosity of tibia ossifies is not well known and investigated in our country. In the present work, and attempt has been made to observe the way in which this part of the tibia ossifies and to understand the causation of Osgood-Schlatter disease.
