Vegetable foreign body induced synovitis is a rare phenomenon and presents diagnostic andtherapeutic problems. Because of its close similarity with conditions like tubercular synovitis, monoarticular rheumatoid arthritis, sub-acute septic arthritis and acute septic arthritis inadequately treated by antibiotics, it assumes an important place in the differential diagnosis of these conditions. Recently, we had an opportunity to study such a case.
